I loved the Dark Knight trilogy (at least parts of it) but I always thought of Batman in that story as extremely flawed. My Moral Event Horizon was when he decided that spying on everyone was the best way forward, and his conscience said he was quitting if Wayne didn't stop. And Wayne didn't stop.
I figured he was supposed to be a semi-hero at best.
